About

My Spanish midterm project. Why does learning other languages matter?

Why Spanish in healthcare matters

Language barriers in medical settings can lead to misunderstandings and anxiety for patients. Focusing this project on healthcare Spanish allows me to explore how important clear communication is for expanding comfort and care.

Practical Phrases and Skills

Throughout the course, we focused on practical terminology, from identifying body parts to understanding critical phrases like asking for help or describing pain. We also practiced essential grammar principles, such as adjusting word agreements accurately for female and male patients in clinical settings.

My class and Teacher

The single most important takeaway from is how much I have learned thanks to my instructor and my very small class. The collaborative practice created a space to develop confidence in speaking and understanding Spanish.

Learning Spanish for healthcare isn't just about memorizing words; it is about building empathy, understanding, and the ability to help when it matters most.
